Resolving Japanese Filename Corruption Issues During Extraction
How to fix filename corruption issues when downloading zip files from foreign websites
Problem Description
When downloading zip files from foreign websites, it is common to encounter filename corruption after extraction. This issue usually arises from a mismatch between the system language and the language used when the compressed file was created.
Example of Filename Corruption After Extraction
This problem is particularly common when downloading MMD zip files from Japanese websites (such as Neconeco).

Open Bandzip
Launch the Bandzip software.
Set Default Code Page
Find the default code page option in Bandzip’s settings.
Select the Correct Language
Set the default code page to Japanese (or the appropriate language).
